The Audi TT you see there I realize is not a stock Audi TT color, I personally am a fan of the color midnight blue and just felt there needs to be some racing stripes on this sweet car.

Anyways, the purpose of this project was to get this Audi TT's 3D model to fit into a 2D photograph. I took this photograph down at the corner of Post and Powell at Union Square in San Francisco.

The model itself was done by Jeremy Birn, I ended up modeled the headlights and blinkers, shaded the model, took the picture, as well as all of the pictures for the environmental map, and composited it onto the picture.

All of the work was done using Maya for the 3D software, Renderman for all shading and rendering, and finally Photoshop for the compositing.

Environmental Map

A little info on how the evironmental map works here as it is a little different then the sideways lower case t many people might be used to seeing. Going left to right, top to bottom I will list what side of the car the part of the environmental map relates to: Left of Car, Above Car, Front of Car, Right of Car, Bottom of Car, Behind Car.
